Fulfil the Umrah of a Loved One Who Cannot Go Themselves
Umrah Badal — also known as Umrah by Proxy — allows a qualified Muslim to perform Umrah on behalf of someone who is unable to do so themselves, whether due to illness, advanced age, disability, or having passed away. It is an act of profound love, and when performed with sincerity, its reward is granted to the intended person by the mercy of Allah.

Who Can Benefit from Umrah Badal?

The Chronically Ill
Someone who suffers from a long-term illness that prevents travel to Makkah.

A person too frail or aged to make the journey to the holy city.

Someone whose disability makes performing Umrah personally impossible.

Someone who passed away before fulfilling their Umrah, or who requested Umrah to be performed on their behalf.
How It Works
You provide us with the full name of the person on whose behalf Umrah is to be performed.
A qualified, practising Muslim — from our network of registered and verified volunteers — performs the complete Umrah in Makkah, making the intention (niyyah) specifically on behalf of the named person.
The full rituals of Umrah — Ihram, Tawaf, Sa'i, and Halq — are completed correctly.
You receive confirmation that the Umrah has been performed, in sha Allah.
Important Notes
- The person performing the Umrah Badal must have already fulfilled their own Umrah obligation.
- The correct niyyah (intention) is made at the Miqat on behalf of the named person.
- Umrah Badal is permissible according to the majority of scholars for those who are permanently unable to perform Umrah themselves.
