Hajj Badal — Proxy Hajj Service

Hajj Badal — On Behalf Of

Fulfil the Hajj of a Loved One Who Could Not Make the Journey

Hajj Badal — performing Hajj by proxy on behalf of another Muslim — is one of the most profound acts of love and devotion a person can offer. For someone who has passed away without fulfilling their Hajj obligation, or for someone too ill or physically unable to make the journey, Hajj Badal provides a means for that obligation to be fulfilled, by the mercy and permission of Allah.

"A woman from the tribe of Khath'am came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: My father has grown very old and cannot perform Hajj. Can I perform it on his behalf? The Prophet ﷺ said: Yes."
— Sahih Bukhari & Muslim

Conditions for Hajj Badal

  • The person performing Hajj Badal must have already fulfilled their own Hajj obligation first.
  • The correct niyyah (intention) must be made at the Miqat, specifically on behalf of the named person.
  • All the obligatory pillars of Hajj — Ihram, Wuquf at Arafah, Tawaf al-Ifadah, and Sa'i — must be completed correctly.
  • Hajj Badal is especially recommended for someone who passed away while financially and physically capable, but died before performing their Hajj.
  • The majority of scholars agree that Hajj Badal is valid and its reward reaches the intended person.
